Lake Washington School District
Named after the famous American poet, Robert Frost, the design of this new kindergarten through sixth grade school pays tribute to its namesake, weaving nature and poetry into the architecture. The building features plenty of wood, glass, natural colors and organic design elements. Taking full advantage of its tree covered site, the light-filled school captures the forest-like surroundings.
The school features unique classroom and shared learning spaces that incorporate moveable glass partitions, huge windows, secure sightlines, and direct access to the outdoors. The inherent flexibility in these areas allow teachers to combine classes or create larger instructional spaces for various uses.
