Klahowya Secondary School

Central Kitsap School District

Project Details

Klahowya represents creative design integrated with an innovative educational program. Distinctive features include a library with state-of-the-art video communications, an award-winning student commons, and a flexible education program. Long curved walls, plenty of light and cozy seating contribute to the library's inviting atmosphere.

Designed as the heart of the school, the multi-use commons provides a place for major performances, intramural activities, and community meetings. The school contains four clusters of classrooms, each made up of five classrooms.

One classroom in each of the clusters is separated from the others by an acoustical wall, serving as a performance space, and media editing room. The remaining four classrooms open to each other via operable partitions.
