As freshmen housing, the New Residence Hall at Central Washington University plays a central role during an important, memorable time for new college students. Studio Meng Strazzara provides a residence hall design that supports a successful transition for young students into the first year of student life at CWU. The 360-bed residence hall design encourages the development of a small-scale residential community. Communal bathrooms, study rooms, and lounges on each floor promote social interaction and gathering. A large Multi-Purpose suite is accessible to all campus residents, while a prominent front lawn provides opportunities for outdoor recreation and respite. The new residence hall is planned to be ready for occupancy in the fall of 2012.
