Architecture has been John's life passion since he was 12 years old. "From my earliest years growing up in Seattle I was fascinated by buildings, both by their design and the construction activities that created them. As an architect, understanding a client's needs and successfully translating those needs into creatively functional space has been my life's pursuit."
John has been a Principal since 1988 and is a lead architect in Studio Meng Strazzara's educational facilities design studio. He also shares time with our associate company, Meng Analysis, as the team's architect on Value Analysis studies. John's broad-based knowledge and experience is a huge asset, especially in the formulation and facilitation of educational planning and programming.
John stays in shape swimming and exercising and tries to sneak in a round of golf most weekends. His creativity as an architect extends into his converted-garage shop where he has designed and built custom furniture. John also plays the autoharp and has designed and built several unique designs for which he has received a US Patent.
